Be_international was away in Liverpool last week participating in the annual conference of the European Association for International Education (EAIE) along with over 5000 colleagues from higher education institutions from all over Europe and around the world.
As well as having the chance to meet up with some of our partners such as Cardiff Metropolitan University International, University of Helsinki, University of Greenwich, Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Universiteit Gent and Keele University, we also had some productive meetings with universities from USA, China, Argentina, Japan and Korea to explore new projects and exchange programmes outside the Erasmus+ area.
Many of the discussions at the event revolved around how Brexit might affect alliances between European and UK universities and how higher education institutions can contribute to alleviate the refugee crisis in Europe. We also attended some interesting sessions and workshops on internationalisation and have brought back plenty of ideas for the university.
